MY RESEARCH INTERESTS

My educational background is in the fields of Psychology and Public Health. I believe these two fields strongly influence each which is why I desire to continue integrating and pursuing both simultaneously to build strong foundation and understanding on how we can use use components of both fields to reduce and prevent deaths by suicide and suicide attempts. I am especially interested in research pertaining to understanding and learning why people engage in suicidal behaviors, how we can more objectively measure suicide risk, and consequently, use these research findings to help guide public health policy and improve guidelines on how suicide risk is detected and how prevention treatment and programs are developed and designed. I look forward to continue my work alongside clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, and public health professionals to bridge our knowledge together and provide the best informed care for people experiencing thoughts of suicide.
